A differenza dei carboidrati, dei grassi o delle proteine, nell\u2019intestino tenue non vengono scomposte o vengono scomposte solo in parte. Ed \u00e8 proprio questo che le rende interessanti dal punto di vista della fisiologia della nutrizione: influenzano la velocit\u00e0 con cui il cibo attraversa il tratto digerente, favoriscono il buon funzionamento dell\u2019intestino e l\u2019uniformit\u00e0 con cui vengono assorbiti i nutrienti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Come le fibre favoriscono la digestione:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Aumentano il volume delle feci, favorendo cos\u00ec un regolare transito intestinale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promuovono l\u2019attivit\u00e0 dell\u2019intestino e possono aiutare a stimolarne la naturale motilit\u00e0.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Si legano all\u2019acqua, rendendo pi\u00f9 morbido il contenuto intestinale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Influenzano la velocit\u00e0 digestiva, con possibili effetti sulla saziet\u00e0 e sull\u2019assorbimento dei nutrienti.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Perch\u00e9 le fibre non si limitano a favorire la digestione<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le fibre sono importanti non solo per la digestione. Possono anche:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>contribuire a prolungare il senso di saziet\u00e0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>influenzare il tempo di assorbimento dei nutrienti<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contribuire a migliorare l\u2019ambiente intestinale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>creare condizioni importanti per una sana funzione intestinale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Queste funzioni sono importanti anche per la salute metabolica, poich\u00e9 la digestione, l\u2019assorbimento dei nutrienti, la saziet\u00e0 e la regolazione della glicemia sono strettamente correlati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salute intestinale e microbioma: l\u2019apporto fornito dalle fibre all\u2019intestino<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La salute dell\u2019intestino non dipende solo da una digestione regolare. Nell\u2019intestino vive una grande comunit\u00e0 di microrganismi denominata microbioma. In parole semplici, il termine descrive l\u2019insieme dei batteri e di altri microrganismi presenti nell\u2019intestino, che interagiscono intensamente con l\u2019ambiente intestinale e svolgono importanti funzioni metaboliche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fibre fermentabili: un alimento per i batteri intestinali<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Molti batteri intestinali utilizzano le fibre come alimento. Soprattutto le fibre fermentabili vengono metabolizzate nell\u2019intestino crasso da determinati microrganismi. Si formano cos\u00ec acidi grassi a catena corta legati alla barriera intestinale, all\u2019ambiente intestinale e a diversi processi metabolici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:1em\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fibre prebiotiche per un microbioma variegato<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alcune fibre possono avere propriet\u00e0 prebiotiche, ossia possono stimolare in modo mirato la crescita e l\u2019attivit\u00e0 dei batteri intestinali benefici. Soprattutto le fibre alimentari solubili possono rallentare l\u2019assorbimento degli zuccheri e di altri nutrienti, influendo sulla risposta glicemica. Le fibre solubili come il betaglucano, l\u2019inulina, la fibra di acacia o la fibra PHGG (farina di semi di guar parzialmente idrolizzata) influenzano tra l\u2019altro la ritenzione idrica, la fermentazione e l\u2019ambiente intestinale.
